I changed the battery as the original battery had badly corroded terminals and the aerial as the old one was bent 90 degrees, but had seen better days anyway (it was covered in a mound of electrical tape to hold it straight!). Nothing on the quad itself was touched, and this is the first attempt to fly it:
Not bad for something that's been sat in a field for 4 months and now has quite a lot of rusty bolts!

Found my quadcopter
So, my shiny Nighthawk Pro went missing back at the start of October on its first trip out since getting a new arm, required from a crash in its first week. Today, four and a half months later, I found the quad. Looks in pretty good condition - not even a bent prop or aerial, but most of the metal seems to have rusted - especially the bolts and nuts, and even my shiny new Mobius which was having its maiden outing. I haven't tried it out yet, but I think the motors may be too rusty to work properly as they're quite stiff to the touch.
Anyway, it seems that the problem was just that the battery plug popped out of the socket on the main board. Apart from that being disconnected it was all fine (although the battery alarm also seemed to have been missing too, although you can hear it beeping just after the crash). Still, the SD card in the Mobius was fine. Here's the flight:

Dominator V3 goggles
I bought some Dominator V3 goggles whilst I was in Hong Kong. Here's what the video quality looked like on one of my first flights back in the UK, a month ago now:

A few evening stunts
I've been a bit quiet as I broke my old camera and manage to lose my Nighthawk Pro somewhere in the fields at work which was carrying my brand new replacment camera. Still searching for it, but not entirely sure where it is as it just lost all power (including VTX and telemetry) for no reason whatsoever.
Anyway, it's a bit dark but hopefully you can see that I've been practising a few stunts with my other quad:

Over a barrel...
I had quite a few opportunities to practice this week and also explored my range a bit more, trying to overcome the fear of the wall of static when the video transmitter is nearing the limit of its range. I won't upload any videos of that, because although the grounds at work are very pretty from above, it's basically just laps of a very similar route over and over...
I also got a bit braver and had my first attempt in acro mode yesterday and did a couple of barrel rolls. I had another few more goes today and all was well, before I decided to try a forward roll... and totally misjudged where the horizon was! :(

Slow down... or the tree gets it!
It was very windy tonight - you can see one part where I'm really fighting against the wind to keep it from slamming into me, so I decided to practise some low flying through trees. I got a bit too cocky and coming in hot on a 180° turn, I sideswiped a small tree. Ooops!
Good fun flying in the wind, although I went through more props in an hour today than I have in the past week!
